Related Product Information for anti-NANOG antibody
NANOG is a transcription regulator involved in inner cell mass and embryonic stem (ES) cell proliferation and self-renewal. It imposes pluripotency on ES cells and prevents their differentiation towards extraembryonic endoderm and trophectoderm lineages. This protein blocks bone morphogenetic protein-induced mesoderm differentiation of ES cells by physically interacting with SMAD1 and interfering with the recruitment of coactivators to the active SMAD transcriptional complexes. NANOG acts as a transcriptional activator or repressor. It binds optimally to the DNA consensus sequence 5'-[CG][GA][CG]C[GC]ATTAN[GC]-3'. When overexpressed, this protein promotes cells to enter into S phase and proliferation.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a DNA binding homeobox transcription factor involved in embryonic stem (ES) cell proliferation, renewal, and pluripotency. The encoded protein can block ES cell differentiation and can also autorepress its own expression in differentiating cells. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]

Uniprot Description

NANOG: Transcription regulator involved in inner cell mass and embryonic stem (ES) cells proliferation and self-renewal. Imposes pluripotency on ES cells and prevents their differentiation towards extraembryonic endoderm and trophectoderm lineages. Blocks bone morphogenetic protein-induced mesoderm differentiation of ES cells by physically interacting with SMAD1 and interfering with the recruitment of coactivators to the active SMAD transcriptional complexes. Acts as a transcriptional activator or repressor. Binds optimally to the DNA consensus sequence 5'-TAAT[GT][GT]-3' or 5'-[CG][GA][CG]C[GC]ATTAN[GC]-3'. When overexpressed, promotes cells to enter into S phase and proliferation. Interacts with SMAD1 and SALL4. Expressed in testicular carcinoma and derived germ cell tumors. Expressed in fetal gonads, ovary and testis. Also expressed in ovary teratocarcinoma cell line and testicular embryonic carcinoma. Not expressed in many somatic organs and oocytes. Belongs to the Nanog homeobox family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The NANOG nanog (Catalog #AAA9206576) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 15-49. The NANOG Antibody (N-term) reacts with Human (Predicted Reactivity: Monkey) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's NANOG can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NANOG nanog for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NANOG, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
