NCBI Description

This gene encodes a precursor protein that is proteolytically cleaved to yield an alpha chain and a beta chain which form a membrane-spanning heterodimer. The encoded protein belongs to a family of cell-surface receptor tyrosine kinases involved in signaling from the cell surface to the intracellular environment. The binding of the encoded protein to its ligand, macrophage-stimulating protein, mediates several biological activities including wound healing, tumor immunity, macrophage activation and hematopoiesis as well as cell growth, motility, survival and adhesion. The protein encoded by this gene also functions in early development and the macrophage-mediated inflammatory response. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2013]

Uniprot Description

Ron: a receptor tyrosine kinase of the Met family. Receptor for macrophage stimulating protein. Can be desensitized by c-Cbl and its binding partner Grb2. Overexpression of wild-type RON causes the formation of lung tumors. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Protein type: Protein kinase, TK; Membrane protein, integral; Kinase, protein; Protein kinase, tyrosine (receptor); EC 2.7.10.1; TK group; Met family

Cellular Component: cell surface; membrane; integral to membrane; plasma membrane; stress fiber

Molecular Function: transferase activity; enzyme binding; protein-tyrosine kinase activity; transferase activity, transferring phosphorus-containing groups; nucleotide binding; kinase activity; transmembrane receptor protein tyrosine kinase activity; receptor activity; ATP binding; protein kinase activity

Product Notes

The Mst1r mst1r (Catalog #AAA9203864) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 1013-1041. The Mouse Mst1r Antibody (C-term) reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Mst1r can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Mst1r mst1r for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Mst1r, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
