Independently from catalytic activity, promotes cell invasion in response to constitutive RhoA activation by promoting FAK tyrosine phosphorylation and stress fiber turnover. Belongs to the eIF-2B alpha/beta/delta subunits family. MtnA subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
