Immunogen
A synthesized peptide derived from human MOAP1.
Conjugation
Unconjugated
Similarity
The BH3-like domain is required for association with BAX and for mediating apoptosis. The three BH domains (BH1, BH2, and BH3) of BAX are all required for mediating protein-protein interaction. Belongs to the PNMA family.
Post Translational Modifications
Ubiquitinated and degraded during mitotic exit by APC/C-Cdh1, this modification is inhibited by TRIM39.
Subunit Structure
Homodimer. Under normal circumstances, held in an inactive conformation by an intramolecular interaction. Binding to RASSF1 isoform A (RASSF1A) relieves this inhibitory interaction and allows further binding to BAX. Binds also to BCL2 and BCLX. Recruited to the TNFRSF1A and TNFRSF10A complexes in response to their respective cognate ligand, after internalization. Interacts with TRIM39. Interacts with RASSF6 (By similarity).
Tissue Specificity
Widely expressed, with high levels in heart and brain.
Function
Required for death receptor-dependent apoptosis. When associated with RASSF1, promotes BAX conformational change and translocation to mitochondrial membranes in response to TNF and TNFSF10 stimulation.
Preparation and Storage
Store at -20 degree C. Stable for 12 months from date of receipt.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene was identified by its interaction with apoptosis regulator BAX protein. This protein contains a Bcl-2 homology 3 (BH3)-like motif, which is required for the association with BAX. When overexpressed, this gene has been shown to mediate caspase-dependent apoptosis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

MOAP1: Required for death receptor-dependent apoptosis. When associated with RASSF1, promotes BAX conformational change and translocation to mitochondrial membranes in response to TNF and TNFSF10 stimulation. Belongs to the PNMA family.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 14q32

Cellular Component: mitochondrial outer membrane; mitochondrion; cytoplasm; cytosol

Molecular Function: protein binding; ubiquitin protein ligase binding

Biological Process: DNA damage response, signal transduction resulting in induction of apoptosis; induction of apoptosis via death domain receptors; protein insertion into mitochondrial membrane during induction of apoptosis; positive regulation of apoptosis

Product Notes

The MOAP1 moap1 (Catalog #AAA9629795) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MOAP1 Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MOAP1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA)(peptide). ELISA(peptide): 1:20000-1:40000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MOAP1 moap1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MOAP1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
