Related Product Information for anti-MMP-10 antibody
Proteins of the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family are zinc containing proteolytic enzymes involved in the breakdown of the extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling. They also play an important role in apoptosis, tumor cell growth, invasion, metastasis, as well as in angiogenesis and wound healing. Most MMP's are secreted as inactive proproteins which are activated when cleaved by extracellular proteinases. Most of the MMP's contain a common domain structure, which include a signal sequence, a propeptide, a catalytic domain and a hemopexin-like (Hpx) domain. MMP10 degrades proteoglycans, gelatins of type I, III, IV, and V; weakly collagens III, IV, and V. and fibronectin. It activates procollagenase.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the peptidase M10 family of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs). Proteins in this family are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate the mature protease. This secreted protease breaks down fibronectin, laminin, elastin, proteoglycan core protein, gelatins, and several types of collagen. The gene is part of a cluster of MMP genes on chromosome 11. Product Notes

The MMP-10 mmp10 (Catalog #AAA3009635) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MMP-10 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MMP-10 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:50-1:200 IF: 1:50-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MMP-10 mmp10 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MMP-10, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
