Related Product Information for anti-MMP-1 antibody
MMP1 encodes a member of the peptidase M10 family of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs). Interstitial collagenase in this family are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate the mature protease. This secreted protease breaks down the interstitial collagens, including types I, II, and III. MMP1 is part of a cluster of MMP genes on chromosome 11. Mutations in this gene are associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, at least one of which encodes an isoform that is proteolytically processed.

Uniprot Description

MMP1: Cleaves collagens of types I, II, and III at one site in the helical domain. Also cleaves collagens of types VII and X. In case of HIV infection, interacts and cleaves the secreted viral Tat protein, leading to a decrease in neuronal Tat's mediated neurotoxicity. Belongs to the peptidase M10A family.

Protein type: Protease; Secreted, signal peptide; EC 3.4.24.7; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Secreted

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q22.3

Cellular Component: proteinaceous extracellular matrix; extracellular region

Molecular Function: zinc ion binding; metalloendopeptidase activity; endopeptidase activity; calcium ion binding

Biological Process: positive regulation of protein oligomerization; extracellular matrix disassembly; collagen catabolic process; extracellular matrix organization and biogenesis; cellular protein metabolic process; viral reproduction; blood coagulation; proteolysis; leukocyte migration

Product Notes

The MMP-1 mmp1 (Catalog #AAA9702496) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MMP-1 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MMP-1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Immunofluorescence (IF), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC-P: 1:100-1:300 IF: 1:200-1:1000 ELISA: 1:20000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MMP-1 mmp1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MMP-1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
