NCBI Description

This gene encodes a serine/threonine kinase belonging to the germinal center kinase (GCK) family. The protein is structurally similar to the kinases that are related to NIK and may belong to a distinct subfamily of NIK-related kinases within the GCK family. Studies of the mouse homolog indicate an up-regulation of expression in the course of postnatal mouse cerebral development and activation of the cJun N-terminal kinase (JNK) and the p38 pathways. Alternative splicing occurs at this locus and four transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

MINK: a protein kinase of the STE20 family. Studies of the mouse ortholog indicate increased expression during postnatal mouse cerebral development. Activates JNK and the p38 pathways. Three splicing isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The MINK mink1 (Catalog #AAA6488203) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MINK1, 2, CT (Misshapen/NIK-related Kinase, Misshapen-like Kinase 1, MINK1, MINK, B55, GCK Family Kinase MiNK, hMINK, hMINKbeta, MAPK/ERK Kinase Kinase Kinase 6, MEK Kinase Kinase 6, MEKKK 6, Mitogen-activated Protein Kinase Kinase Kinase Kinase 6, MAP4K6 reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MINK1, 2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), FLISA. IHC: 1:50-1:100 FLISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MINK mink1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MINK1, 2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
