Rabbit anti-Human MGAT5 Polyclonal Antibody | anti-MGAT5 antibody
MGAT5 Antibody (C-term)
Western Blot (WB)
(MGAT5 Antibody (C-term) western blot analysis in NCI-H460 cell line lysates (35ug/lane).This demonstrates the MGAT5 antibody detected the MGAT5 protein (arrow).)
Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS)
(MGAT5 Antibody (C-term) flow cytometric analysis of NCI-H460 cells (right histogram) compared to a negative control cell (left histogram).FITC-conjugated donkey-anti-rabbit secondary antibodies were used for the analysis.)
beta-1,6-N-acetyl-glucosaminyltransferase, a glycosyltransferase
involved in the synthesis of protein-bound and lipid-bound
oligosaccharides. Alterations of the oligosaccharides on cell
surface glycoproteins cause significant changes in the adhesive or
migratory behavior of a cell. Increase in the encoded protein's
activity may correlate with the progression of invasive
malignancies.

NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the glycosyltransferase family. It catalyzes the addition of beta-1,6-N-acetylglucosamine to the alpha-linked mannose of biantennary N-linked oligosaccharides present on the newly synthesized glycoproteins. It is one of the most important enzymes involved in the regulation of the biosynthesis of glycoprotein oligosaccharides. Alterations of the oligosaccharides on cell surface glycoproteins cause significant changes in the adhesive or migratory behavior of a cell. Increase in the activity of this enzyme has been correlated with the progression of invasive malignancies. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]
Uniprot Description
MGAT5: Catalyzes the addition of N-acetylglucosamine in beta 1- 6 linkage to the alpha-linked mannose of biantennary N-linked oligosaccharides. It is one of the most important enzymes involved in the regulation of the biosynthesis of glycoprotein oligosaccharides. Belongs to the glycosyltransferase 18 family.

Product Notes
The MGAT5 mgat5 (Catalog #AAA9204366) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 652-680. The MGAT5 Antibody (C-term) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MGAT5 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MGAT5 mgat5 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MGAT5, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
