Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C for frequent use. Aliquot and store at -20 degree C for 12 months.
Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the membrane-spanning 4A gene family. Members of this nascent protein family are characterized by common structural features and similar intron/exon splice boundaries and display unique expression patterns among hematopoietic cells and nonlymphoid tissues. This gene encodes a B-lymphocyte surface molecule which plays a role in the development and differentiation of B-cells into plasma cells. This family member is localized to 11q12, among a cluster of family members. Alternative splicing of this gene results in two transcript variants which encode the same protein. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

MS4A1: This protein may be involved in the regulation of B-cell activation and proliferation. Defects in MS4A1 are the cause of immunodeficiency common variable type 5 (CVID5); also called antibody deficiency due to CD20 defect. CVID5 is a primary immunodeficiency characterized by antibody deficiency, hypogammaglobulinemia, recurrent bacterial infections and an inability to mount an antibody response to antigen. The defect results from a failure of B-cell differentiation and impaired secretion of immunoglobulins; the numbers of circulating B-cells is usually in the normal range, but can be low. Belongs to the MS4A family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Cell surface; Membrane protein, multi-pass

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q12

Cellular Component: extracellular space; integral to plasma membrane; external side of plasma membrane

Molecular Function: epidermal growth factor receptor binding

Biological Process: B cell proliferation; humoral immune response

Disease: Immunodeficiency, Common Variable, 5

Product Notes

The CD20 ms4a1 (Catalog #AAA2112084) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Polyclonal Antibody to Membrane Spanning 4 Domains Subfamily A, Member 1 (CD20) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Membrane Spanning 4 Domains Subfamily A, Member 1 (CD20) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunoprecipitation (IP). WB: 0.5-2ug/mL; 1:100-400 IHC: 5-20ug/mL; 1:10-40 ICC: 5-20ug/mL; 1:10-40. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD20 ms4a1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Lys142~Pro 297. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Membrane Spanning 4 Domains Subfamily A, Member 1 (CD20), Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
