Goat MCT2 Polyclonal Antibody | anti-MCT2 antibody

GOAT ANTI HUMAN MCT2

Gene Names
SLC16A7; MCT2
Applications
Western Blot
Synonyms
MCT2; Polyclonal Antibody; GOAT ANTI HUMAN MCT2; anti-MCT2 antibody
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Host
Goat
Clonality
Polyclonal
Isotype
IgG
Specificity
This item recognises human monocarboxylate transporter 2 (MCT2). MCT2 is a transporter molecule involved in the transport of pyruvaste and lactate across cell membranes.

Northern blot analysis reveals expression of a larger transcript in most normal tissues compared to that which predominates in many cell lines and this may be reflected in the two bands identified by this antibody, in Western blots.
Form/Format
Purified
Purified IgG - liquid
Concentration
IgG concentration 0.5 mg/ml (varies by lot)
Sequence Length
478
Applicable Applications for anti-MCT2 antibody
Western Blot (WB)
Application Notes
Western Blot: This item detects bands of approximately 40 kDa and 60-70 kD in Raji cell lysates.
Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 1/200; Maximum Dilution: 1/500
Perservative Stabilisers
0.02% Sodium Azide
0.5% Bovine Serum Albumin
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide SNAQSVTSERETNI derived from C terminus of human MCT2.
Buffer Solution
Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to human MCT2 were raised by repeated immunisations of goats with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
Target Species
Human
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. This product should be stored undiluted. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 18 months from date of despatch.

NCBI Description

This gene is a member of the monocarboxylate transporter family. Members in this family transport metabolites, such as lactate, pyruvate, and ketone bodies. The protein encoded by this gene catalyzes the proton-linked transport of monocarboxylates and has the highest affinity for pyruvate. This protein has been reported to be more highly expressed in prostate and colorectal cancer specimens when compared to control specimens. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2012]

Uniprot Description

SLC16A7: Proton-linked monocarboxylate transporter. Catalyzes the rapid transport across the plasma membrane of many monocarboxylates such as lactate, pyruvate, branched-chain oxo acids derived from leucine, valine and isoleucine, and the ketone bodies acetoacetate, beta-hydroxybutyrate and acetate. MCT2 is a high affinity pyruvate transporter. Belongs to the major facilitator superfamily. Monocarboxylate porter (TC 2.A.1.13) family.

Product Notes

The MCT2 slc16a7 (Catalog #AAA221698) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's MCT2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Western Blot: This item detects bands of approximately 40 kDa and 60-70 kD in Raji cell lysates. Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 1/200; Maximum Dilution: 1/500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MCT2 slc16a7 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MCT2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
