Related Product Information for anti-MCM9 antibody
Function: Component of the MCM8-MCM9 complex, a complex involved in homologous recombination repair following DNA interstrand cross-links and plays a key role during gametogenesis. The MCM8-MCM9 complex probably acts as a hexameric helicase downstream of the Fanconi anemia proteins BRCA2 and RAD51 and is required to process aberrant forks into homologous recombination substrates and to orchestrate homologous recombination with resection, fork stabilization and fork restart.
Subunit Structure: Component of the MCM8-MCM9 complex, which forms a hexamer composed of MCM8 and MCM9.
Similarity: Belongs to the MCM family.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the mini-chromosome maintenance (MCM) protein family that are essential for the initiation of eukaryotic genome replication. Binding of this protein to chromatin has been shown to be a pre-requisite for recruiting the MCM2-7 helicase to DNA replication origins. This protein also binds, and is a positive regulator of, the chromatin licensing and DNA replication factor 1, CDT1. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2010]

Uniprot Description

Component of the MCM8-MCM9 complex, a complex involved in the repair of double-stranded DNA breaks (DBSs) and DNA interstrand cross-links (ICLs) by homologous recombination (HR) (PubMed:23401855). Required for DNA resection by the MRE11-RAD50-NBN/NBS1 (MRN) complex by recruiting the MRN complex to the repair site and by promoting the complex nuclease activity (PubMed:26215093). Probably by regulating the localization of the MRN complex, indirectly regulates the recruitment of downstream effector RAD51 to DNA damage sites including DBSs and ICLs (PubMed:23401855). Acts as an helicase in DNA mismatch repair (MMR) following DNA replication errors to unwind the mismatch containing DNA strand (PubMed:26300262). In addition, recruits MLH1, a component of the MMR complex, to chromatin (PubMed:26300262). The MCM8-MCM9 complex is dispensable for DNA replication and S phase progression (PubMed:23401855). Probably by regulating HR, plays a key role during gametogenesis ().

Product Notes

The MCM9 mcm9 (Catalog #AAA9604088) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MCM9 Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MCM9 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:50-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MCM9 mcm9 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MCM9, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
