Related Product Information for anti-MAPK4 antibody
Atypical MAPK protein. Phosphorylates microtubule-associated protein 2 (MAP2) and MAPKAPK5. The precise role of the complex formed with MAPKAPK5 is still unclear, but the complex follows a complex set of phosphorylation events: upon interaction with atypical MAPKAPK5, ERK4/MAPK4 is phosphorylated at Ser-186 and then mediates phosphorylation and activation of MAPKAPK5, which in turn phosphorylates ERK4/MAPK4. May promote entry in the cell cycle.

NCBI Description

Mitogen-activated protein kinase 4 is a member of the mitogen-activated protein kinase family. Tyrosine kinase growth factor receptors activate mitogen-activated protein kinases which then translocate into the nucleus and phosphorylate nuclear targets. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, May 2014]

Uniprot Description

ERK4: a protein kinase of the MAPK family. Phosphorylation and activations leads to translocation into the nucleus where it phosphorylates nuclear targets.

Product Notes

The MAPK4 mapk4 (Catalog #AAA1493480) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MAPK4 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MAPK4 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:20-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MAPK4 mapk4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MAPK4, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
