Polyclonal
Specificity
MAP-1 [This rabbit antibody recognizes aa 2-16 of human MAP-1 (Modulator of Apoptosis Protein), a novel Bax-associating protein.]
This antibody recognizes human MAP-1 (Modulator of Apoptosis Protein), a novel Bax-associating protein. MAP-1 mediates caspase-dependent apoptosis in mammalian cells when overexpressed. MAP-1 homodimerizes and associates with the proapoptotic Bax and the prosurvival Bcl-2 and Bcl-xL of the Bcl-2 family.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene was identified by its interaction with apoptosis regulator BAX protein. This protein contains a Bcl-2 homology 3 (BH3)-like motif, which is required for the association with BAX. When overexpressed, this gene has been shown to mediate caspase-dependent apoptosis. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

MOAP1: Required for death receptor-dependent apoptosis. When associated with RASSF1, promotes BAX conformational change and translocation to mitochondrial membranes in response to TNF and TNFSF10 stimulation. Belongs to the PNMA family.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 14q32

Cellular Component: mitochondrial outer membrane; mitochondrion; cytoplasm; cytosol

Molecular Function: protein binding; ubiquitin protein ligase binding

Biological Process: DNA damage response, signal transduction resulting in induction of apoptosis; induction of apoptosis via death domain receptors; protein insertion into mitochondrial membrane during induction of apoptosis; positive regulation of apoptosis

Product Notes

The MOAP1 moap1 (Catalog #AAA194297) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's MAP-1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunoblot. Immunoblotting: use at 1:500-1:1,000 dilution. A band of approx. 39 kD is detected. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MOAP1 moap1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MAP-1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
