Related Product Information for anti-LSM14A antibody
Human LSm14A has recently been found as a processing body-associated sensor of intracellular viral nucleic acids and triggers signaling for type I IFN expression. Human LSm14A is a key component of the processing body (P-body) assembly that mediates interferon-beta (IFN-beta) production by sensing viral RNA or DNA. LSm14A, a member of the LSM family involved in RNA processing in the processing bodies, binds to synthetic or viral RNA and DNA and mediates IRF3 activation and IFN-beta induction. LSm14A is a key innate immunity component of the processing body (P-body) that mediates interferon-beta (IFN-beta) signaling by viral RNA. Knockdown of LSm14A inhibits cytosolic RNA-and DNA-trigger type I IFN production and cellular antiviral response. Moreover, LSm14A is essential for early-phase induction of IFN-beta after either RNA or DNA virus infection. chicken LSm14A (cLSm14A) is an important sensor that mediates innate immunity in the chicken against NDV infections.

NCBI Description

Sm-like proteins were identified in a variety of organisms based on sequence homology with the Sm protein family (see SNRPD2; 601061). Sm-like proteins contain the Sm sequence motif, which consists of 2 regions separated by a linker of variable length that folds as a loop. The Sm-like proteins are thought to form a stable heteromer present in tri-snRNP particles, which are important for pre-mRNA splicing.[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]

Uniprot Description

alphaSNBP(A): Essential for formation of P-bodies, cytoplasmic structures that provide storage sites for non-translating mRNAs. Belongs to the LSM14 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Translation; RNA-binding

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.11

Cellular Component: intracellular membrane-bound organelle; stress granule; cytoplasm

Molecular Function: single-stranded RNA binding; double-stranded DNA binding; double-stranded RNA binding

Biological Process: regulation of translation; multicellular organismal development; cytoplasmic mRNA processing body assembly

Product Notes

The LSM14A lsm14a (Catalog #AAA8102051) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-LSM14A Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's LSM14A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin (IHC-P). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC-P: 1:200-1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the LSM14A lsm14a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "LSM14A, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
