Immunogen
A synthesized peptide derived from human LPIN2.
Conjugation
Unconjugated
Similarity
Contains 1 Asp-Xaa-Asp-Xaa-Thr (DXDXT) motif, a catalytic motif known to be essential for phosphatidate phosphatase activity. Contains one Leu-Xaa-Xaa-Ile-Leu (LXXIL) motif, a motif known to be a transcriptional binding motif. Belongs to the lipin family.
Tissue Specificity
Expressed in liver, lung, kidney, placenta, spleen, thymus, lymph node, prostate, testes, small intestine, and colon.
Function
Plays important roles in controlling the metabolism of fatty acids at different levels. Acts as a magnesium-dependent phosphatidate phosphatase enzyme which catalyzes the conversion of phosphatidic acid to diacylglycerol during triglyceride, phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylethanolamine biosynthesis in the reticulum endoplasmic membrane. Acts also as a nuclear transcriptional coactivator for PPARGC1A to modulate lipid metabolism (By similarity).
Note
Translocates to endoplasmic reticulum membrane with increasing levels of oleate.
Preparation and Storage
Store at -20 degree C. Stable for 12 months from date of receipt.

NCBI Description

Mouse studies suggest that this gene functions during normal adipose tissue development and may play a role in human triglyceride metabolism. This gene represents a candidate gene for human lipodystrophy, characterized by loss of body fat, fatty liver, hypertriglyceridemia, and insulin resistance. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Product Notes

The LPIN2 lpin2 (Catalog #AAA9630957) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The LPIN2 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's LPIN2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA)(peptide). ELISA(peptide): 1:20000-1:40000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the LPIN2 lpin2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "LPIN2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
