NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene was initially thought to represent a pseudogene of galectin 9; however, this transcript has good exon-intron structure and encodes a predicted protein of the same size as and highly similar to galectin 9. This gene is one of two similar loci on chromosome 17p similar to galectin 9 and now thought to be protein-encoding. This gene is the more centromeric gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
LGALS9B: Binds galactosides. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17p11.2
Molecular Function: carbohydrate binding

The LGALS9B lgals9b (Catalog #AAA9211409) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 160-188. The LGALS9B Antibody (Center) reacts with Human, mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's LGALS9B can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the LGALS9B lgals9b for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "LGALS9B, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
