NCBI Description

LEO1, parafibromin (CDC73; MIM 607393), CTR9 (MIM 609366), and PAF1 (MIM 610506) form the PAF protein complex that associates with the RNA polymerase II subunit POLR2A (MIM 180660) and with a histone methyltransferase complex (Rozenblatt-Rosen et al., 2005 [PubMed 15632063]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]

Uniprot Description

LEO1: a component of the PAF1 multifunctional complex involved in initiation and elongation, histone methylation and RNA processing. The PAF1 complex interacts with POLR2A. Overexpression of LEO1 induces cell growth arrest and premature senescence of fibroblasts. The PAF1 complex consists of at least of CDC73, PAF1, LEO1 and CTR9. Interacts with CDC73. Two isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Transcription regulation

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 15q21.2

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; nucleolus

Molecular Function: protein binding

Biological Process: histone monoubiquitination; Wnt receptor signaling pathway; negative regulation of myeloid cell differentiation; transcription, DNA-dependent; endodermal cell fate commitment; positive regulation of RNA elongation from RNA polymerase II promoter; histone H2B ubiquitination; stem cell maintenance; positive regulation of mRNA 3'-end processing; mRNA polyadenylation; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter

Product Notes

The LEO1 leo1 (Catalog #AAA247998) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit Polyclonal to Human LEO1 reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's LEO1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin), Western Blot (WB). IHC-P (10 ug/ml), WB (1:1000). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the LEO1 leo1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "LEO1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
