Related Product Information for anti-KV1.3 antibody
Potassium channels represent the most complex class of voltage-gated ion channels from both functional and structural standpoints. Their diverse functions include regulating neurotransmitter release, heart rate, insulin secretion, neuronal excitability, epithelial electrolyte transport, smooth muscle contraction, and cell volume. Four sequence-related potassium channel genes - shaker, shaw, shab, and shal - have been identified in Drosophila, and each has been shown to have human homolog(s). KCNA3 encodes a member of the potassium channel, voltage-gated, shaker-related subfamily. Potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily A member 3 contains six membrane-spanning domains with a shaker-type repeat in the fourth segment. It belongs to the delayed rectifier class, members of which allow nerve cells to efficiently repolarize following an action potential. It plays an essential role in T-cell proliferation and activation. This gene appears to be intronless and it is clustered together with KCNA2 and KCNA10 genes on chromosome 1.

Uniprot Description

Kv1.3: Mediates the voltage-dependent potassium ion permeability of excitable membranes. Assuming opened or closed conformations in response to the voltage difference across the membrane, the protein forms a potassium-selective channel through which potassium ions may pass in accordance with their electrochemical gradient. Belongs to the potassium channel family. A (Shaker) (TC 1.A.1.2) subfamily. Kv1.3/KCNA3 sub-subfamily.

Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; Membrane protein, integral; Channel, potassium

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p13.3

Cellular Component: voltage-gated potassium channel complex; plasma membrane; integral to membrane; lipid raft

Molecular Function: outward rectifier potassium channel activity; delayed rectifier potassium channel activity; voltage-gated ion channel activity

Biological Process: synaptic transmission; protein homooligomerization; potassium ion transport

Product Notes

The KV1.3 kcna3 (Catalog #AAA9702384) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Kv1.3 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Kv1.3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Immunofluorescence (IF), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC-P: 1:100-1:300 IF: 1:200-1:1000 ELISA: 1:20000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the KV1.3 kcna3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Kv1.3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
