NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene, a Kirsten ras oncogene homolog from the mammalian ras gene family, encodes a protein that is a member of the small GTPase superfamily. A single amino acid substitution is responsible for an activating mutation. The transforming protein that results is implicated in various malignancies, including lung adenocarcinoma, mucinous adenoma, ductal carcinoma of the pancreas and colorectal carcinoma. Alternative splicing leads to variants encoding two isoforms that differ in the C-terminal region. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
KRas: Ras proteins bind GDP/GTP and possess intrinsic GTPase activity. Interacts with PHLPP. Interacts (active GTP-bound form preferentially) with RGS14. Alternate between an inactive form bound to GDP and an active form bound to GTP. Activated by a guanine nucleotide-exchange factor (GEF) and inactivated by a GTPase- activating protein (GAP). Belongs to the small GTPase superfamily. Ras family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The KRAS kras (Catalog #AAA8101437) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-KRAS Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Human Predicted to React with: Mouse, Rat (Species predicted to react based on 100% sequence homology) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's KRAS can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:500-1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the KRAS kras for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "KRAS, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
