Related Product Information for anti-UHMK1 antibody
Description: KIST, a member of the Ser/Thr protein kinase family, is a pyruvate kinase that catalyzes formation of phosphoenolpyruvate from pyruvate and ATP. A role for the primarily nuclear KIST protein in mediation of cellular metabolism has been postulated based on the interaction identified with thyroid hormone. KIST is widely expressed, with highest abundance in skeletal muscle, kidney, placenta and peripheral blood leukocytes. Upon serum stimulation, KIST phosphorylates CDKN1B/p27Kip1, thereby regulating the subcellular location of CDKN1B and cell cycle progression in the G1 phase. KIST, which contains one RNA recognition motif domain, has been proposed to partipate in trafficking and processing of RNA. KIST binds to Opa protein, a bacterial outer membrane protein involved in gonococcal adherence to and invasion of human cells.

Background: Upon serum stimulation, phosphorylates CDKN1B/p27Kip1, thus controlling CDKN1B subcellular location and cell cycle progression in G1 phase. May be involved in trafficking and/or processing of RNA (By similarity).

NCBI Description

The gene encodes a serine/threonine protein kinase that promotes cell cycle progression through G1 by phosphorylation of the cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 1B (p27Kip1), which causes nuclear export and degradation. The encoded protein is also thought to function in the adult nervous system and the gene has been associated with schizophrenia. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, May 2010]

Uniprot Description

KIS: a unique kinase that possesses an RNP type RNA-recognition motif (RRM). A proline-directed kinase with a specificity different from the MAP kinases and CDKs. May be involved in trafficking and/or processing of RNA.

Product Notes

The UHMK1 uhmk1 (Catalog #AAA9217134) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The KIST (KIS) Antibody (C-term) reacts with Human, Mouse; Predicted Reactivity: Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's KIST can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB:~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the UHMK1 uhmk1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "KIST, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
