Related Product Information for anti-KRT10 antibody
Description: K10 a type I cytoskeletal keratin. The keratins are intermediate filament proteins responsible for the structural integrity of epithelial cells and are subdivided into cytokeratins and hair keratins. There are two types of cytoskeletal and microfibrillar keratin: type I (acidic; 40-55 kDa) [K9 to K20] and type II (neutral to basic; 56-70 kDa) [K1 to K8]. Both a basic and an acidic keratin are required for filament assembly.
Function: Plays a role in the establishment of the epidermal barrier on plantar skin.
Subunit Structure: Heterotetramer of two type I and two type II keratins. Heterodimer with KRT1 (PubMed:27595935). Two heterodimers of KRT1 and KRT10 form a heterotetramer (PubMed:27595935). The KRT10 subunit in the heterotetramer is probably disulfide-linked (Probable).
Similarity: Belongs to the intermediate filament family.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the type I (acidic) cytokeratin family, which belongs to the superfamily of intermediate filament (IF) proteins. Keratins are heteropolymeric structural proteins which form the intermediate filament. These filaments, along with actin microfilaments and microtubules, compose the cytoskeleton of epithelial cells. Mutations in this gene are associated with epidermolytic hyperkeratosis. This gene is located within a cluster of keratin family members on chromosome 17q21. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Product Notes

The KRT10 krt10 (Catalog #AAA9600135) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Keratin 10 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Keratin 10 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:500-1:3000 IF/ICC: 1:100-1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the KRT10 krt10 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Keratin 10, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
