NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The Shaker gene family of Drosophila encodes components of voltage-gated potassium channels and is comprised of four subfamilies. Based on sequence similarity, this gene is similar to one of these subfamilies, namely the Shaw subfamily. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the delayed rectifier class of channel proteins and is an integral membrane protein that mediates the voltage-dependent potassium ion permeability of excitable membranes. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been inferred for this gene based on orthologous loci. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
Function: Mediates the voltage-dependent potassium ion permeability of excitable membranes. Assuming opened or closed conformations in response to the voltage difference across the membrane, the protein forms a potassium-selective channel through which potassium ions may pass in accordance with their electrochemical gradient.
Subunit structure: Heteromultimer with KCNG3, KCNG4 and KCNV2.
Subcellular location: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.
Domain: The segment S4 is probably the voltage-sensor and is characterized by a series of positively charged amino acids at every third position. The tail may be important in modulation of channel activity and/or targeting of the channel to specific subcellular compartments.
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the potassium channel family. C (Shaw) (TC 1.A.1.2) subfamily. Kv3.1/KCNC1 sub-subfamily. [View classification]

Product Notes
The KCNC1 kcnc1 (Catalog #AAA6312304) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The KCNC1, CT (KCNC1, Potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily C member 1, NGK2, Voltage-gated potassium channel subunit Kv3.1, Voltage-gated potassium channel subunit Kv4) (Biotin) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's KCNC1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). IHC: 1:10-50 ELISA: 1:1,000 WB: 1:100-500 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the KCNC1 kcnc1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "KCNC1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
