Immunohistochemistry (IHC)

(Immunohistochemical analysis of ITPKC staining in human breast cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.)

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate [Ins(1,4,5)P(3)] 3-kinase family of enzymes that catalyze the phosphorylation of inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate to 1,3,4,5-tetrakisphosphate. The encoded protein is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm and has both nuclear import and nuclear export activity. Single nucleotide polymorphisms in this gene are associated with Kawasaki disease.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]

Uniprot Description

ITPKC: Can phosphorylate inositol 2,4,5-triphosphate to inositol 2,4,5,6-tetraphosphate. Defects in ITPKC are a cause of Kawasaki disease (KWD); also known as mucocutaneous lymph node syndrome or infantile polyarteritis. Kawasaki disease is an acute, self- limited vasculitis of infants and children characterized by prolonged fever unresponsive to antibiotics, polymorphous skin rash, erythema of the oral mucosa, lips, and tongue, erythema of the palms and soles, bilateral conjunctival injection, and cervical lymphadenopathy. Coronary artery aneurysms develop in 15 to 25% of those left untreated, making Kawasaki disease the leading cause of acquired heart disease among children in developed countries. Belongs to the inositol phosphokinase (IPK) family.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Kinase, lipid; EC 2.7.1.127

Cellular Component: nucleus; cytosol

Molecular Function: calmodulin binding; inositol trisphosphate 3-kinase activity; ATP binding

Biological Process: inositol phosphate metabolic process; phosphorylation

Disease: Kawasaki Disease

Product Notes

The ITPKC itpkc (Catalog #AAA8203424) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-ITPKC Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ITPKC can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB (1/500 - 1/1000), IHC (1/100 - 1/200). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ITPKC itpkc for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ITPKC, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
