Related Product Information for anti-IRF8 antibody
Interferon consensus sequence-binding protein (ICSBP) is a transcription factor of the interferon (IFN) regulatory factor (IRF) family. Proteins of this family are composed of a conserved DNA-binding domain in the N-terminal region and a divergent C-terminal region that serves as the regulatory domain. The IRF family proteins bind to the IFN-stimulated response element (ISRE) and regulate expression of genes stimulated by type I IFNs, namely IFN-alpha and IFN-beta. IRF family proteins also control expression of IFN-alpha and IFN-beta-regulated genes that are induced by viral infection.

NCBI Description

[provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Function: Specifically binds to the upstream regulatory region of type I IFN and IFN-inducible MHC class I genes (the interferon consensus sequence (ICS)). Plays a negative regulatory role in cells of the immune system. Involved in CD8+ dendritic cell differentiation by forming a complex with the BATF-JUNB heterodimer in immune cells, leading to recognition of AICE sequence (5'-TGAnTCA/GAAA-3'), an immune-specific regulatory element, followed by cooperative binding of BATF and IRF8 and activation of genes

By similarity.

Subunit structure: Interacts (via C-terminus) with TRIM21 (via C-terminus). Interacts with the BATF-JUNB heterodimer. Interacts with BATF (via bZIP domain); the interaction is direct

By similarity. Interacts with COPS2. Ref.4

Subcellular location: Nucleus.

Tissue specificity: Predominantly expressed in lymphoid tissues. Ref.1

Induction: By IFNG/IFN-gamma. Ref.1

Post-translational modification: Ubiquitinated. Ubiquitination by TRIM21 in macrophages, a process that is strongly increased upon interferon gamma stimulation, leds to the enhanced transcriptional activity of target cytokine genes

By similarity.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the IRF family.Contains 1 IRF tryptophan pentad repeat DNA-binding domain.

Product Notes

The IRF8 irf8 (Catalog #AAA646295) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The IRF8, CT (Interferon Regulatory Factor 8, IRF-8, Interferon Consensus Sequence-binding Protein, ICSBP, IRF8, ICSBP1) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's IRF8 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 5ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IRF8 irf8 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IRF8, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
