Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C for frequent use. Stored at -20 degree C in a manual defrost freezer for one year without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is an interferon and possesses antiviral activity. The encoded protein binds to the interferon alpha/beta receptor but not to the interferon gamma receptor. This intronless gene has several pseudogenes spread throughout the genome. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2015]

Uniprot Description

IFNW1: Belongs to the alpha/beta interferon family.

Protein type: Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 9p21.3

Cellular Component: extracellular space

Molecular Function: cytokine activity; hematopoietin/interferon-class (D200-domain) cytokine receptor binding; interferon-alpha/beta receptor binding

Biological Process: adaptive immune response; B cell differentiation; B cell proliferation; cell cycle arrest; cytokine and chemokine mediated signaling pathway; humoral immune response; innate immune response; natural killer cell activation during immune response; positive regulation of peptidyl-serine phosphorylation of STAT protein; response to exogenous dsRNA; response to virus; T cell activation during immune response

Product Notes

The IFNa ifnw1 (Catalog #AAA2085964) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Polyclonal Antibody to Interferon Alpha (IFNa) reacts with Simian and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Interferon Alpha (IFNa) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunoprecipitation (IP). Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml Immunocytochemistry in formalin fixed cells: 5-20ug/ml Immunohistochemistry in formalin fixed frozen section: 5-20ug/ml Immunohistochemistry in paraffin section: 5-20ug/ml Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay: 0.05-2ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IFNa ifnw1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Interferon Alpha (IFNa), Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
