Related Product Information for anti-ITGA1 antibody
Description: Rabbit IgG polyclonal antibody for Integrin alpha-1(ITGA1) detection. Tested with WB, IHC-P in Human, Mouse, Rat.
Background: Integrin alpha 1(ITGA1) chain associates with the beta 1(ITGB1) chain to form a heterodimer that functions as a dual laminin/collagen receptor in neural cells and hematopoietic cells. ITGA1 has a 206-amino acid I domain in its N-terminal half, followed by 3 divalent cation-binding sites and a C-terminal transmembrane domain with a short cytoplasmic tail. It also has 28 potential N-glycosylation sites. Human ITGA1 was expressed in a mouse fibroblast cell line as a 180-kD protein. ITGA1 is involved in the early remodeling of osteoarthritic cartilage and plays an essential role in the regulation of mesenchymal stem cell proliferation and cartilage production. It also plays an essential role in the regulation of MSC proliferation and cartilage production.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes the alpha 1 subunit of integrin receptors. This protein heterodimerizes with the beta 1 subunit to form a cell-surface receptor for collagen and laminin. The heterodimeric receptor is involved in cell-cell adhesion and may play a role in inflammation and fibrosis. The alpha 1 subunit contains an inserted (I) von Willebrand factor type I domain which is thought to be involved in collagen binding. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

ITGA1: Integrin alpha-1/beta-1 is a receptor for laminin and collagen. It recognizes the proline-hydroxylated sequence G-F-P-G- E-R in collagen. Belongs to the integrin alpha chain family.

Product Notes

The ITGA1 itga1 (Catalog #AAA177089) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Integrin alpha 1 antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Integrin alpha 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ITGA1 itga1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Integrin alpha 1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
