Background: IKBKB(Inhibitor of Kappa Light Chain Gene Enhancer in B Cells, Kinase of, Beta), also known as IKKB or NFKBIKB, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the IKBKB gene. This gene is mapped to chromosome 8p12-p11 by FISH. It is found that mutations in IKK2 had a more pronounced effect upon NFKB activation than did comparable mutations in IKK1. The activity of various antiinflammatory agents on the IKK complex has been texted, it has been found that aspirin and sodium salicylate specifically inhibit IKK-beta activity in vitro and in vivo by binding to IKK-beta to reduce ATP binding.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene phosphorylates the inhibitor in the inhibitor/NF-kappa-B complex, causing dissociation of the inhibitor and activation of NF-kappa-B. The encoded protein itself is found in a complex of proteins. Several transcript variants, some protein-coding and some not, have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2011]
Uniprot Description
IKKB: a kinase of the IKK family. Phosphorylates inhibitors of NF-kappa-B thus leading to the dissociation of the inhibitor/NF-kappa-B complex and ultimately the degradation of the inhibitor. Preferentially found as a heterodimer with IKK-alpha but also as an homodimer.

The Anti-IKK beta Antibody reacts with Human. No cross reactivity with other proteins. and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Inhibitor of nuclear factor kappa-B kinase subunit beta can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC-P). Western Blot: Concentration: 0.1-0.5mug/ml; Tested Species: Human Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin-embedded Section): Concentration: 0.5-1mug/ml; Tested Species: Human. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IKBKB ikbkb for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Inhibitor of nuclear factor kappa-B kinase subunit beta, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
