Related Product Information for anti-ING4 antibody
Component of the HBO1 complex which has a histone H4- specific acetyltransferase activity, a reduced activity toward histone H3 and is responsible for the bulk of histone H4 acetylation in vivo. Through chromatin acetylation it may function in DNA replication. May inhibit tumor progression by modulating the transcriptional output of signaling pathways which regulate cell proliferation. Can suppress brain tumor angiogenesis through transcriptional repression of RELA/NFKB3 target genes when complexed with RELA. May also specifically suppress loss of contact inhibition elicited by activated oncogenes such as MYC. Represses hypoxia inducible factor's (HIF) activity by interacting with HIF prolyl hydroxylase 2 (EGLN1).

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a tumor suppressor protein that contains a PHD-finger, which is a common motif in proteins involved in chromatin remodeling. This protein can bind TP53 and EP300/p300, a component of the histone acetyl transferase complex, suggesting its involvement in the TP53-dependent regulatory pathway. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been observed that encode distinct proteins. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

ING4: similar to ING1, a tumor suppressor protein that can interact with p53, inhibit cell growth, and induce apoptosis. Contains a PHD-finger, which is a common motif in proteins involved in chromatin remodeling. This protein can bind p53 and p300, a component of the histone acetyl transferase complex, suggesting its involvement in the TP53-dependent regulatory pathway. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been observed, but the biological validity of them has not been determined.

Protein type: Transcription factor; Tumor suppressor

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12p13.31

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; nucleus; histone acetyltransferase complex

Molecular Function: protein binding; zinc ion binding; transcription coactivator activity; methylated histone residue binding

Biological Process: negative regulation of cell proliferation; DNA damage response, signal transduction by p53 class mediator resulting in transcription of p21 class mediator; establishment and/or maintenance of chromatin architecture; protein amino acid acetylation; apoptosis; positive regulation of apoptosis; DNA replication; cell cycle arrest; negative regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; negative regulation of growth

Product Notes

The ING4 ing4 (Catalog #AAA9211973) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ING4 Antibody (C-term) reacts with Human (Predicted Reactivity: Bovine, Chicken, Mouse) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ING4 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). IHC~~1:25 WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ING4 ing4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ING4, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
