Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Related Product Information for anti-ING1 antibody
The p33ING1 protein encodes a 33-kD, 294-amino acid protein that displays the characteristics of a tumor suppressor gene. The p33ING1 protein is a regulator of cell cycle, senescence, and apoptosis. It can mediate growth arrest, anchor dependent growth and influence chemosensitivity (1-4). It also has a proposed role as a growth regulator, which is consistent with its location in the nucleus (5). It has been demonstrated that the ING1 gene has three exons and that four mRNA variants are transcribed from three different promoter regions (p33 ING1, p24 ING1, p27 ING1, p47 IG1) (6, 7). ING1 can possibly influence the above biological functions depending on which variant is expressed (1-4).

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a tumor suppressor protein that can induce cell growth arrest and apoptosis. The encoded protein is a nuclear protein that physically interacts with the tumor suppressor protein TP53 and is a component of the p53 signaling pathway. Reduced expression and rearrangement of this gene have been detected in various cancers. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

ING1: Cooperates with p53/TP53 in the negative regulatory pathway of cell growth by modulating p53-dependent transcriptional activation. Implicated as a tumor suppressor gene. Defects in ING1 are a cause of head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCC); also known as squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck. Belongs to the ING family. 5 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Tumor suppressor

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 13q34

Cellular Component: nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; zinc ion binding; methylated histone residue binding

Biological Process: negative regulation of cell proliferation; protein import into nucleus; positive regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; negative regulation of cell growth; chromatin modification; cell cycle

Disease: Squamous Cell Carcinoma, Head And Neck

Product Notes

The ING1 ing1 (Catalog #AAA620169) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ING1, p33 (Inhibitor of Growth 1) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ING1, p33 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF). Suitable for use in Western Blot, ELISA and Immunofluorescence. Dilution: Western Blot: 0.25mg/ml was sufficient for detection in lysates prepared from human melanoma cell lines by Western Blot analysis. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ING1 ing1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ING1, p33, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
