Immunofluorescence (IF)

(Immunofluorescence staining of ING1 in A431 cells. Cells were fixed with 4% PFA, permeabilzed with 0.3% Triton X-100 in PBS,blocked with 10% serum, and incubated with rabbit anti-Human ING1 polyclonal antibody (dilution ratio 1:200) at 4 degree C overnight. Then cells were stained with the Alexa Fluor488-conjugated Goat Anti-rabbit IgG secondary antibody (green). Positive staining was localized to Nucleus and Cytoplasm.)

ING1 (Inhibitor Of Growth Family Member 1) is a Protein Coding gene. This gene encodes a tumor suppressor protein that can induce cell growth arrest and apoptosis. The encoded protein is a nuclear protein that physically interacts with the tumor suppressor protein TP53 and is a component of the p53 signaling pathway. The ING1 gene is involved in the regulation of the cell cycle, senescence, and apoptosis and is a novel candidate tumor suppressor gene.ING1 is implicated in oncogenesis, DNA damage repair, and apoptosis. Mutations within the ING1 gene and altered expression levels of ING1 are found in multiple human cancers. Overexpression of ING1 enhances the expression of the Bax gene and was reported to alter mitochondrial membrane potential in a p53-dependent manner.
