Related Product Information for anti-IL37 antibody
Interleukin 37 (IL-37) is a member of the interleukin 1 cytokine family (reviewed in 1). It can bind to, and may be a ligand for interleukin 18 receptor (IL18R1/IL-1Rrp). IL-37 also binds to interleukin 18 binding protein (IL18BP), an inhibitory binding protein of interleukin 18 (IL18), and subsequently forms a complex with IL18 receptor beta subunit, and through which it inhibits the activity of IL18 (1). IL-37 can also interact with Smad3 and expression of IL-37 in macrophages or epithelial cells resulted in near complete suppression of pro-inflammatory cytokines, suggesting that IL-37 may act as a natural suppressor of the innate inflammatory and immune responses (2,3).

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the interleukin 1 cytokine family. This cytokine can bind to, and may be a ligand for interleukin 18 receptor (IL18R1/IL-1Rrp). This cytokine also binds to interleukin 18 binding protein (IL18BP), an inhibitory binding protein of interleukin 18 (IL18), and subsequently forms a complex with IL18 receptor beta subunit, and through which it inhibits the activity of IL18. This gene along with eight other interleukin 1 family genes form a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 2. Five alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported. Uniprot Description

IL37: Suppressor of innate inflammatory and immune responses involved in curbing excessive inflammation. This function requires SMAD3. Suppresses, or reduces, proinflammatory cytokine production, including IL1A and IL6, as well as CCL12, CSF1, CSF2, CXCL13, IL1B, IL23A and IL1RN, but spares anti-inflammatory cytokines. Inhibits dendritic cell activation. Belongs to the IL-1 family. 5 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cytokine

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2q12-q14.1

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; extracellular space; cytoplasm; nucleolus; extracellular region; nucleus; cytosol

Molecular Function: interleukin-1 receptor binding; cytokine activity

Product Notes

The IL37 il37 (Catalog #AAA153344) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The IL-37 Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's IL-37 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF). IL-37 antibody can be used for detection of IL-37 by Western blot at 1 - 2 mug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IL37 il37 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IL-37, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
