DyLight fluorophores have absorption maxima covering the entire visible light spectrum (350nM to 777nM), as well several key near-infrared and infrared wavelengths. Both the absorption and emission properties of the DyLight fluorophores match the excitation and detection wavelengths of common fluorescence instrumentation used for immunocytochemistry, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry. The DyLight fluorophores exhibit higher fluorescence intensity and photostability than Alexa Fluor, CyDye and LI-COR Dyes in many applications and remain highly fluorescent over a broad pHrange (pH4-9). Additionally, the water solubility of the DyLight fluorophores allows a high dye-to-protein ratio to be achieved without causing precipitation of conjugates. These favorable properties and high anisotropy value, as well as a high cross-section for two-photon excitation, make these fluorophores attractive as fluorescent probes in a variety of fluorescence methods.
