Related Product Information for anti-IFITM2 antibody
IFITM2 (Interferon Induced Transmembrane Protein 2) is a Protein Coding gene. The encoded protein IFITM2 belongs to the CD225/Dispanin family. IFITM2 knockdown decreased GC cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition in vitro. And IFITM2 expression was in part induced by insulin-like growth factor (IGF) 1 via IGF1 receptor/signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 signaling. Furthermore, IFITM2 regulated interleukin-6 expression and secretion, which in turn increased IFITM2 expression. Silencing of IFITM2 expression suppressed tumor growth and lung metastasis in vivo. That IFITM2 is a novel prognostic biomarker and regulator of GC progression. IFITM2 is widely expressed in the appendix, spleen, and other tissues. Diseases associated with IFITM2 include Cycloplegia and Influenza.

Uniprot Description

IFITM2: IFN-induced antiviral protein which inhibits the entry of viruses to the host cell cytoplasm, permitting endocytosis, but preventing subsequent viral fusion and release of viral contents into the cytosol. Active against multiple viruses, including influenza A virus, SARS coronavirus (SARS-CoV), Marburg virus (MARV), Ebola virus (EBOV), Dengue virus (DNV), West Nile virus (WNV), human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) and vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV). Can inhibit: influenza virus hemagglutinin protein-mediated viral entry, MARV and EBOV GP1,2-mediated viral entry, SARS-CoV S protein-mediated viral entry and VSV G protein- mediated viral entry. Induces cell cycle arrest and mediates apoptosis by caspase activation and in p53-independent manner. Belongs to the CD225/Dispanin family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11p15.5

Cellular Component: integral to membrane; plasma membrane

Biological Process: cytokine and chemokine mediated signaling pathway; defense response to virus; immune response; negative regulation of viral genome replication; negative regulation of virion penetration into host cell; response to virus

Product Notes

The IFITM2 ifitm2 (Catalog #AAA8103535) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-IFITM2 Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's IFITM2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:500-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IFITM2 ifitm2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IFITM2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
