NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
In vertebrates, the genes encoding the class of transcription factors called homeobox genes are found in clusters named A, B, C, and D on four separate chromosomes. Expression of these proteins is spatially and temporally regulated during embryonic development. This gene is part of the A cluster on chromosome 7 and encodes a DNA-binding transcription factor which may regulate gene expression, morphogenesis, and differentiation. Methylation of this gene may result in the loss of its expression and, since the encoded protein upregulates the tumor suppressor p53, this protein may play an important role in tumorigenesis. Uniprot Description
HOXA5: Sequence-specific transcription factor which is part of a developmental regulatory system that provides cells with specific positional identities on the anterior-posterior axis. Also binds to its own promoter. Binds specifically to the motif 5'-CYYNATTA[TG]Y-3'. Belongs to the Antp homeobox family.
Protein type: DNA-binding
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7p15.2
Cellular Component: nucleus
Molecular Function: DNA binding; protein binding; transcription factor activity
Biological Process: alveolus development; anterior/posterior pattern formation; cell migration; embryonic skeletal morphogenesis; multicellular organism growth; negative regulation of angiogenesis; negative regulation of erythrocyte differentiation; positive regulation of apoptosis; positive regulation of myeloid cell differentiation; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; regulation of mammary gland epithelial cell proliferation; respiratory system process; thyroid gland development; transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter

The HOXA5 hoxa5 (Catalog #AAA423262) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Goat anti-HOXA5 (aa83-92) Antibody reacts with Tested: Human, Mouse, Rat, Pig; Expected from sequence similarity: Human, Mouse, Pig, Cow and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's HOXA5 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Peptide ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 8000. Western Blot: Approx 28kDa band observed in Human, Mouse, Rat and Pig Kidney lysates (calculated MW of 29.2kDa according to Mouse NP_034583.1). Recommended concentration: 1-3ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HOXA5 hoxa5 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: EPRYSQPATS. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HOXA5, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
