Related Product Information for anti-HOPX antibody
The protein encoded by this gene is a homeodomain protein that lacks certain conserved residues required for DNA binding. It was reported that choriocarcinoma cell lines and tissues failed to express this gene, which suggested the possible involvement of this gene in malignant conversion of placental trophoblasts. Studies in mice suggest that this protein may interact with serum response factor (SRF) and modulate SRF-dependent cardiac-specific gene expression and cardiac development. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq].

Uniprot Description

HOPX: Atypical homeodomain protein which does not bind DNA and is required to modulate cardiac growth and development. Acts via its interaction with SRF, thereby modulating the expression of SRF-dependent cardiac-specific genes and cardiac development. Prevents SRF-dependent transcription either by inhibiting SRF binding to DNA or by recruiting histone deacetylase (HDAC) proteins that prevent transcription by SRF. Overexpression causes cardiac hypertrophy. May act as a tumor suppressor. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Oncoprotein; DNA-binding

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 4q12

Cellular Component: nucleus

Molecular Function: DNA binding

Biological Process: negative regulation of cell differentiation; transcription, DNA-dependent; positive regulation of skeletal muscle regeneration; regulation of protein binding; heart development; histone deacetylation; negative regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; positive regulation of striated muscle cell differentiation; alveolus development; regulation of heart contraction; trophectodermal cell differentiation

Product Notes

The HOPX hopx (Catalog #AAA6005997) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The HOPX, CT (HOPX, HOD, HOP, LAGY, NECC1, OB1, Homeodomain-only protein, Lung cancer-associated Y protein, Not expressed in choriocarcinoma protein 1, Odd homeobox protein 1) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's HOPX can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). Suitable for use in Western Blot, Flow Cytometry, ELISA Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000 Western Blot: 1:100-500 Flow Cytometry: 1:10-50. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HOPX hopx for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HOPX, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
