Related Product Information for anti-HIST1H1B antibody
May play a key role in the control of gene expression during oogenesis and early embryogenesis, presumably through the perturbation of chromatin structure. Essential for meiotic maturation of germinal vesicle-stage oocytes. The somatic type linker histone H1c is rapidly replaced by H1oo in a donor nucleus transplanted into an oocyte. The greater mobility of H1oo as compared to H1c may contribute to this rapid replacement and increased instability of the embryonic chromatin structure. The rapid replacement of H1c with H1oo may play an important role in nuclear remodeling.

NCBI Description

Histones are basic nuclear proteins responsible for nucleosome structure of the chromosomal fiber in eukaryotes. Two molecules of each of the four core histones (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4) form an octamer, around which approximately 146 bp of DNA is wrapped in repeating units, called nucleosomes. The linker histone, H1, interacts with linker DNA between nucleosomes and functions in the compaction of chromatin into higher order structures. This gene is intronless and encodes a replication-dependent histone that is a member of the histone H1 family. Transcripts from this gene lack polyA tails but instead contain a palindromic termination element. This gene is found in the small histone gene cluster on chromosome 6p22-p21.3. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2015]

Uniprot Description

H1B: Histone H1 protein binds to linker DNA between nucleosomes forming the macromolecular structure known as the chromatin fiber. Histones H1 are necessary for the condensation of nucleosome chains into higher-order structured fibers. Acts also as a regulator of individual gene transcription through chromatin remodeling, nucleosome spacing and DNA methylation. Belongs to the histone H1/H5 family.

Protein type: DNA-binding

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6p22.1

Cellular Component: extracellular exosome; nuclear chromatin; nuclear heterochromatin; nucleosome; nucleus

Molecular Function: chromatin DNA binding; histone deacetylase binding; protein binding; RNA binding

Biological Process: chromatin organization; establishment of protein localization to chromatin; negative regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; nucleosome assembly; positive regulation of cell growth; positive regulation of histone H3-K9 methylation; protein stabilization

Product Notes

The HIST1H1B hist1h1b (Catalog #AAA2548846) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Phospho-Histone H1 (Thr17) Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Monkey and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Histone H1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Immunofluorescence (IF), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:100-1:300 IF: 1:200-1:1000 ELISA: 1:10000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HIST1H1B hist1h1b for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Histone H1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
