Related Product Information for anti-GSK3b antibody
GSK-3 has been identified as a target of Akt that plays a role in the regulation of apoptosis in a variety of normal and transformed cell types including muscle cells, hepatocytes, neurons, and colon cancer cells. Akt-dependent phosphorylation of GSK-3 causes its inactivation, blocking downstream proapoptotic pathways, e.g., caspase and -catenin signaling. Akt-dependent regulation of GSK-3 activity contributes to the growth and hypertrophy of skeletal and cardiac muscle and inhibits apoptosis in vascular smooth muscle

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a serine-threonine kinase, belonging to the glycogen synthase kinase subfamily. It is involved in energy metabolism, neuronal cell development, and body pattern formation. Polymorphisms in this gene have been implicated in modifying risk of Parkinson disease, and studies in mice show that overexpression of this gene may be relevant to the pathogenesis of Alzheimer disease. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]

Uniprot Description

Product Notes

The GSK3b gsk3b (Catalog #AAA551060) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse anti GSK-3b pS133 Polyclonal reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat, Cow, Sheep, Pig and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GSK-3b pS133 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), IHC (Immunohistochemistry), ELISA (EIA). ELISA: Use at a concentration range of 1-2ug/ml. Western blot:A suitable range of concentrations of this antibody for WB detection is 2-10 ug/ml. IHC: A suitable range of concentrations of this antibody for IHC is 2-10 ug/ml. Immunohistochemical analysis of FFPE mouse alzheimer diseased brain tissue expressing GSK-3B. It was used as primary antibody, dilution 1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GSK3b gsk3b for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GSK-3b pS133, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
