Immunohistochemistry (IHC)

(Immunohistochemical analysis of GRPR staining in rat brain formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.)

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a multipass membrane protein that functions as a receptor for gastrin releasing peptide. Signalling through this receptor is important in a variety of physiological processes, including responses to itching, satiety, and fear. [provided by RefSeq, May 2015]

Uniprot Description

GRPR: Receptor for gastrin releasing peptide (GRP). This receptor mediates its action by association with G proteins that activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, GPCR; GPCR, family 1

Cellular Component: integral to membrane; membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: bombesin receptor activity; G-protein coupled receptor activity; neuropeptide binding; peptide receptor activity, G-protein coupled; protein binding; signal transducer activity

Biological Process: G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; learning and/or memory; regulation of cell proliferation; signal transduction; social behavior

Product Notes

The GRPR grpr (Catalog #AAA8241770) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-GRPR Antibody reacts with Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GRPR can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Western Blot: (1/1000 - 1/2000); Immunohistochemistry: (1/50 - 1/200). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GRPR grpr for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GRPR, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
