Related Product Information for anti-ARHGAP26 antibody
Protein kinases are enzymes that transfer a phosphate group from a phosphate donor, generally the g phosphate of ATP, onto an acceptor amino acid in a substrate protein. By this basic mechanism, protein kinases mediate most of the signal transduction in eukaryotic cells, regulating cellular metabolism, transcription, cell cycle progression, cytoskeletal rearrangement and cell movement, apoptosis, and differentiation. With more than 500 gene products, the protein kinase family is one of the largest families of proteins in eukaryotes. The family has been classified in 8 major groups based on sequence comparison of their tyrosine (PTK) or serine/threonine (STK) kinase catalytic domains. The STE group (homologs of yeast Sterile 7, 11, 20 kinases) consists of 50 kinases related to the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) cascade families (Ste7/MAP2K, Ste11/MAP3K, and Ste20/MAP4K). MAP kinase cascades, consisting of a MAPK and one or more upstream regulatory kinases (MAPKKs) have been best characterized in the yeast pheromone response pathway. Pheromones bind to Ste cell surface receptors and activate yeast MAPK pathway.

NCBI Description

Interaction of a cell with the extracellular matrix triggers integrin cell surface receptors to begin signaling cascades that regulate the organization of the actin-cytoskeleton. One of the proteins involved in these cascades is focal adhesion kinase. The protein encoded by this gene is a GTPase activating protein that binds to focal adhesion kinase and mediates the activity of the GTP binding proteins RhoA and Cdc42. Defects in this gene are a cause of juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia (JMML). Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2010]

Uniprot Description

ARHGAP26: GTPase-activating protein for RHOA and CDC42. Interacts with NYAP1, NYAP2 and MYO16. Binds to the C-terminus of PTK2/FAK1. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Oncoprotein; GAPs; GAPs, Rac/Rho

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5q31

Cellular Component: focal adhesion; cytoskeleton; cytosol

Molecular Function: protein binding; phospholipid binding

Biological Process: nervous system development; regulation of small GTPase mediated signal transduction; plasma membrane organization and biogenesis; small GTPase mediated signal transduction; actin cytoskeleton organization and biogenesis

Product Notes

The ARHGAP26 arhgap26 (Catalog #AAA643932) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GRAF, CT (GTPase Regulator Associated with Focal Adhesion Kinase, ARHGAP26, FLJ42530, KIAA0621, Oligophrenin-1-like Protein, OPHN1L, OPHN1L1, Rho GTPase Activating Protein 26, Rho-type GTPase-activating Protein 26) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GRAF can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ARHGAP26 arhgap26 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GRAF, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
