NCBI Description

This gene encodes a G protein-couple receptor protein. G-protein-coupled receptors are a large family of membrane proteins that are involved in cellular responses to environmental stimuli, neurotransmitters, and hormones. The encoded protein may play a role in neurodegenerative diseases. Epigenetic silencing of this gene has been observed in gliomas. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2016]

Uniprot Description

GPR26: Orphan receptor. Displays a significant level of constitutive activity. Its effect is mediated by G(s)-alpha protein that stimulate adenylate cyclase, resulting in an elevation of intracellular cAMP. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.

Protein type: GPCR, family 1; Membrane protein, integral; Membrane protein, multi-pass; Receptor, GPCR

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 10q26.13

Molecular Function: G-protein coupled receptor activity

Biological Process: G-protein signaling, adenylate cyclase activating pathway; regulation of protein stability

Product Notes

The GPR26 gpr26 (Catalog #AAA9418361) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GPR26 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GPR26 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Western Blot: 1:500-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GPR26 gpr26 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GPR26, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
