Related Product Information for anti-GPR189 antibody
The Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats (CRISPR) and CRISPR-associated protein (Cas9) system is an adaptive immune response defense mechanism used by archea and bacteria for the degradation of foreign genetic material. This mechanism can be repurposed for other functions, including genomic engineering for mammalian systems, such as gene knockout (KO) and gene activation. CRISPR Activation Plasmid products enable the identification and upregulation of specific genes by utilizing a D10A and N863A deactivated Cas9 (dCas9) nuclease fused to a VP64 activation domain, in conjunction with sgRNA (MS2), a target-specific sgRNA engineered to bind the MS2-P65-HSF1 fusion protein. This synergistic activation mediator (SAM) transcription activation system provides a robust system to maximize the activation of endogenous gene expression.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the AID/APOBEC family of polynucleotide (deoxy)cytidine deaminases, which convert cytidine to uridine. Other AID/APOBEC family members are involved in mRNA editing, somatic hypermutation and recombination of immunoglobulin genes, and innate immunity to retroviral infection. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

APOBEC4: Putative C to U editing enzyme whose physiological substrate is not yet known. Belongs to the cytidine and deoxycytidylate deaminase family.

Protein type: EC 3.5.4.-; Hydrolase

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q25.3

Molecular Function: zinc ion binding; hydrolase activity, acting on carbon-nitrogen (but not peptide) bonds, in cyclic amidines

Biological Process: mRNA processing

Product Notes

The GPR189 apobec4 (Catalog #AAA3014879) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GPR189 polyclonal antibody reacts with Human, Rat, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GPR189 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:500~1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GPR189 apobec4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GPR189, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
