Related Product Information for anti-GFRA1 antibody
Description: Rabbit IgG polyclonal antibody for GDNF family receptor alpha-1(GFRA1) detection. Tested with WB, IHC-P in Human.
Background: GDNF family receptor alpha-1 (GFRalpha1), also known as the GDNF receptor or GFRA1, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the GFRA1 gene. It is mapped to chromosome 10q25.3. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the GDNF receptor family. GFRA1 is released by neuronal cells, Schwann cells, and injured sciatic nerve. It is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol(GPI)-linked cell surface receptor for both GDNF and NTN, and mediates activation of the RET tyrosine kinase receptor. This gene is also a candidate gene for Hirschsprung disease. Soluble GFRA1 mediates robust recruitment of RET to lipid rafts via a mechanism requiring the RET tyrosine kinase.

NCBI Description

Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) and neurturin (NTN) are two structurally related, potent neurotrophic factors that play key roles in the control of neuron survival and differentiation. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the GDNF receptor family. It is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol(GPI)-linked cell surface receptor for both GDNF and NTN, and mediates activation of the RET tyrosine kinase receptor. This gene is a candidate gene for Hirschsprung disease. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2009]

Protein type: Membrane protein, GPI anchor; Receptor, misc.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 10q26.11

Cellular Component: extrinsic to membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: receptor binding; glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor receptor activity

Product Notes

The GFRA1 gfra1 (Catalog #AAA177489) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-GFRA1 Antibody reacts with Human. No cross reactivity with other proteins. and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GDNF family receptor alpha-1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC-P). Western Blot: Concentration: 0.1-0.5mug/ml; Tested Species: Human Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin-embedded Section): Concentration: 0.5-1mug/ml; Tested Species: Human. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GFRA1 gfra1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GDNF family receptor alpha-1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
