Related Product Information for anti-GCAT antibody
The degradation of L-threonine to glycine consists of a two-step biochemical pathway involving the enzymes L-threonine dehydrogenase and 2-amino-3-ketobutyrate coenzyme A ligase. L-Threonine is first converted into 2-amino-3-ketobutyrate by L-threonine dehydrogenase. This gene encodes the second enzyme in this pathway, which then catalyzes the reaction between 2-amino-3-ketobutyrate and coenzyme A to form glycine and acetyl-CoA. The encoded enzyme is considered a class II pyridoxal-phosphate-dependent aminotransferase. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. A pseudogene of this gene is found on chromosome 14.

Product Notes

The GCAT gcat (Catalog #AAA6301539) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GCAT, NT (GCAT, KBL, 2-amino-3-ketobutyrate coenzyme A ligase, mitochondrial, Aminoacetone synthase, Glycine acetyltransferase) (MaxLight 490) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GCAT can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), FLISA. WB: 1:50-100 FLISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GCAT gcat for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GCAT, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
