Related Product Information for anti-GATA1 antibody
GATA proteins comprise a group of transcription factors that are related by the presence of conserved zinc finger DNA binding domains that bind directly to the nucleotide sequence core element GATA (1-3). There are six vertebrate GATA proteins, designated GATA-1 to GATA-6 (3). GATA-1 is the founding member of the GATA family and is required for erythroid and megakaryocytic cell development (4,5). Mutations in GATA-1 have been linked to many human diseases, including acute megakaryoblastic leukemia in Down syndrome children (DS-AMKL), X-linked thrombocytopenia, and gray platelet syndrome (6-9).

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein which belongs to the GATA family of transcription factors. The protein plays an important role in erythroid development by regulating the switch of fetal hemoglobin to adult hemoglobin. Mutations in this gene have been associated with X-linked dyserythropoietic anemia and thrombocytopenia. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

GATA1: Transcriptional activator which probably serves as a general switch factor for erythroid development. It binds to DNA sites with the consensus sequence [AT]GATA[AG] within regulatory regions of globin genes and of other genes expressed in erythroid cells. May form homodimers or heterodimers with other isoforms. Interacts (via the N-terminal zinc finger) with ZFPM1. Interacts with GFI1B. Interacts with PIAS4; the interaction enhances sumoylation and represses the transactivational activity in a sumoylation-independent manner. Interacts with LMCD1. Interacts with CREBBP; the interaction stimulates acetylation and transcriptional activity in vivo. Interacts with EP300. Erythrocytes. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The GATA1 gata1 (Catalog #AAA613307) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GATA1 (GATA Binding Factor 1, GATA Binding Protein 1) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GATA1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP). Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000 Immunoprecipitation: 1:50. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GATA1 gata1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GATA1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
