NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the GalNAc polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferases. These enzymes catalyze the first step in the synthesis of mucin-type oligosaccharides. These proteins transfer GalNAc from UDP-GalNAc to either serine or threonine residues of polypeptide acceptors. The protein encoded by this locus may have increased catalytic activity toward glycosylated peptides compared to activity toward non-glycosylated peptides.[provided by RefSeq, Apr 2010]
Uniprot Description
GALNT10: Catalyzes the initial reaction in O-linked oligosaccharide biosynthesis, the transfer of an N-acetyl-D- galactosamine residue to a serine or threonine residue on the protein receptor. Has activity toward Muc5Ac and EA2 peptide substrates. Belongs to the glycosyltransferase 2 family. GalNAc-T subfamily. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The GALNT10 galnt10 (Catalog #AAA247145) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit Polyclonal to Human GALNT10 reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GALNT10 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin), Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). ELISA, IHC-P (5 ug/ml), WB (1 - 2 ug/ml) Usage: GALNT10 antibody can be used for detection of GALNT10 by Western blot at 1-2 ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GALNT10 galnt10 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GALNT10, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
