Immunofluorescence (IF)
(Immunofluorescence staining of HG3C-GALK1 in MCF7 cells. Cells were fixed with 4% PFA, permeabilzed with 0.3% Triton X-100 in PBS,blocked with 10% serum, and incubated with rabbit anti- HG3C-GALK1 polyclonal antibody (dilution ratio: 1:1000) at 4 degree C overnight. Then cells were stained with the Alexa Fluor488-conjugated Goat Anti-rabbit IgG secondary antibody (green).Positive staining was localized to cytoplasm.)
Immunoprecipitation (IP)
(GALK1 was immunoprecipitated using: Lane A:0.5 mg Hela Whole Cell Lysate Lane B:0.5 mg HepG2 Whole Cell Lysate 4 uL anti-GALK1 rabbit polyclonal antibody and 15 ul of 50 % Protein G agarose. NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Galactokinase is a major enzyme for the metabolism of galactose and its deficiency causes congenital cataracts during infancy and presenile cataracts in the adult population. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
GALK1: Major enzyme for galactose metabolism. Defects in GALK1 are the cause of galactosemia II (GALCT2). Galactosemia II is an autosomal recessive deficiency characterized by congenital cataracts during infancy and presenile cataracts in the adult population. The cataracts are secondary to accumulation of galactitol in the lenses. Belongs to the GHMP kinase family. GalK subfamily.

Product Notes
The GALK1 galk1 (Catalog #AAA8105292) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-GALK1 Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GALK1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunoprecipitation (IP). WB: 1:500-1:2000 ICC/IF: 1:300-1:10,000 IP: 1-4uL/mg of lysate. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GALK1 galk1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GALK1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
