Related Product Information for anti-FOXP3 antibody
Forkhead/winged-helix box (Fox) genes are the transcriptional regulators and highly conserved across mammals. It contains a FOX DNA-binding domain and large polyglutamine tract. The FOXPs are involved in organogenesis and cell differentiation. FOXP3 is essential for normal immune homeostasis. FOXP3 is stably and constitutively expressed at a high level in CD25 + CD4 positive regulatory T cells, at low level in CD4 positive/CD25 negative cells, and is absent in CD4 negative/CD8 positive T cells. FOXP3 may be a master regulatory gene and a more specific marker of regulatory T cells than other T cells.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the forkhead/winged-helix family of transcriptional regulators. Defects in this gene are the cause of immunodeficiency polyendocrinopathy, enteropathy, X-linked syndrome (IPEX), also known as X-linked autoimmunity-immunodeficiency syndrome. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

Function: Probable transcription factor. Plays a critical role in the control of immune response.

Subunit structure: Interacts with IKZF3. Ref.7

Subcellular location: Nucleus

Potential.

Involvement in disease: Defects in FOXP3 are the cause of immunodeficiency polyendocrinopathy, enteropathy, X-linked syndrome (IPEX) [

MIM:304790]; also known as X-linked autoimmunity-immunodeficiency syndrome. IPEX is characterized by neonatal onset insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, infections, secretory diarrhea, trombocytopenia, anemia and eczema. It is usually lethal in infancy. Ref.8 Ref.9 Ref.10 Ref.11

Sequence similarities: Contains 1 C2H2-type zinc finger.Contains 1 fork-head DNA-binding domain.

Product Notes

The FOXP3 foxp3 (Catalog #AAA462166) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit anti FOXP3 Polyclonal antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's FOXP3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry. Western Blot: 0.1-1 ug/ml ELISA: 0.01-0.1 ug/ml Immunoprecipitation: 2-5 ug/ml Immunohistochemistry: 0.5-2 ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FOXP3 foxp3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "FOXP3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
