NCBI Description

FOXH1 encodes a human homolog of Xenopus forkhead activin signal transducer-1. FOXH1 protein binds SMAD2 and activates an activin response element via binding the DNA motif TGT(G/T)(T/G)ATT. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

FOXH1: Transcriptional activator. Recognizes and binds to the DNA sequence 5'-TGT[GT][GT]ATT-3'. Required for induction of the goosecoid (GSC) promoter by TGF-beta or activin signaling. Forms a transcriptionally active complex containing FOXH1/SMAD2/SMAD4 on a site on the GSC promoter called TARE (TGF-beta/activin response element).

Protein type: Nuclear receptor co-regulator; DNA-binding; Transcription factor

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 8q24.3

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; transcription factor complex; nuclear chromatin; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein domain specific binding; protein binding; androgen receptor binding; DNA binding; sequence-specific DNA binding; bHLH transcription factor binding; SMAD binding; transcription factor activity

Biological Process: transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; axial mesoderm development; embryonic heart tube anterior/posterior pattern formation; transforming growth factor beta receptor signaling pathway; positive regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; heart looping; negative regulation of estrogen receptor signaling pathway

Product Notes

The FOXH1 foxh1 (Catalog #AAA6477071) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The FOXH1 (Forkhead Box H1, Human Homolog of Xenopus Forkhead Activin Signal Transducer 1) (MaxLight 750) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's FOXH1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunocytochemistry (ICC). ICC: 1:500 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FOXH1 foxh1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "FOXH1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
