Related Product Information for anti-FGF13 antibody
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and are involved in a variety of biological processes, including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth, and invasion. This gene is located in a region on chromosome X, which is associated with Borjeson-Forssman-Lehmann syndrome (BFLS), making it a possible candidate gene for familial cases of the BFLS, and for other syndromal and nonspecific forms of X-linked mental retardation mapping to this region. Alternative splicing of this gene at the 5' end results in several transcript variants encoding different isoforms with different N-termini.

Uniprot Description

FGF13: Microtubule-binding protein which directly binds tubulin and is involved in both polymerization and stabilization of microtubules. Through its action on microtubules, may participate to the refinement of axons by negatively regulating axonal and leading processes branching. Plays a crucial role in neuron polarization and migration in the cerebral cortex and the hippocampus. Belongs to the heparin-binding growth factors family. 5 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cell development/differentiation; Nucleolus

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: Xq26.3

Cellular Component: microtubule; neuron projection; growth cone; axon; cytoplasm; dendrite; plasma membrane; extracellular region; nucleolus; nucleus; filopodium

Molecular Function: protein binding; growth factor activity; sodium channel regulator activity; microtubule binding; beta-tubulin binding; protein kinase activator activity

Biological Process: nervous system development; negative regulation of microtubule depolymerization; establishment of neuroblast polarity; hippocampus development; neuron migration; MAPKKK cascade; negative regulation of collateral sprouting; learning; signal transduction; memory; cerebral cortex cell migration; cell-cell signaling; positive regulation of protein kinase activity; microtubule polymerization

Product Notes

The FGF13 fgf13 (Catalog #AAA3008937) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The FGF13 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's FGF13 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:50-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FGF13 fgf13 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "FGF13, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
