Related Product Information for anti-FCER1A antibody
FcERI, also known as FCER1A, is the alpha subunit of the immunoglobulin epsilon receptor (IgE receptor). IgE receptor is a high affinity IgE receptor which plays a central role in allergic disease, coupling allergen and mast cell to initiate the inflammatory and immediate hypersensitivity responses that are characteristic of disorders such as hay fever and asthma. The allergic response occurs when 2 or more IgE receptors are crosslinked via IgE molecules that in turn are bound to an allergen (antigen) molecule. A perturbation occurs that brings about the release of histamine and proteases from the granules in the cytoplasm of the mast cell and leads to the synthesis of prostaglandins and leukotrienes--potent effectors of the hypersensitivity response. IgE receptor is comprised of an alpha subunit(FcERI), a beta subunit, and two gamma subunits. FcERI is glycosylated and contains 2 Ig-like (immunoglobulin-like) domains.

NCBI Description

The immunoglobulin epsilon receptor (IgE receptor) is the initiator of the allergic response. When two or more high-affinity IgE receptors are brought together by allergen-bound IgE molecules, mediators such as histamine that are responsible for allergy symptoms are released. This receptor is comprised of an alpha subunit, a beta subunit, and two gamma subunits. The protein encoded by this gene represents the alpha subunit. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]

Uniprot Description

Binds to the Fc region of immunoglobulins epsilon. High affinity receptor. Responsible for initiating the allergic response. Binding of allergen to receptor-bound IgE leads to cell activation and the release of mediators (such as histamine) responsible for the manifestations of allergy. The same receptor also induces the secretion of important lymphokines.

Product Notes

The FCER1A fcer1a (Catalog #AAA8106826) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Fc epsilon RI Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Fc epsilon RI can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF). WB: 1:500-1:1000 ELISA: 1:25,000-1:50,000 ICC/IF: 1:1500-1:50,000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FCER1A fcer1a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Fc epsilon RI, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
